Dear wonderful brothers and sisters. Please pay a little attention to the one you call 'mom' or 'ammi' or 'ma' or 'amma' or 'moji' or 'mataji' or 'aayee' or whatever you call your mother. She is the best thing that has ever happened to you. She's divine. Nothing can replace her although sometimes you may feel that she is not the one who best understands you. Or she may not agree with your opinions but she still is your "mom". Believe me she can do everything for you--Listen to your problems anxiously and try to help you with the most sincere and unselfish desire. So guys/gals don't you have at least some time for her. Can't you give a patient hearing to her worries? Are you not concerned when she's unwell? Please love her very intently because when she leaves for her lovely heavenly abode it shall remain in your memory and that would surely give you peace. Do not ignore the one who's close to your heart? Love her more than you love yourself and I guess its true when they say," the hand that rocks the cradle, rules the world!" I don't believe that we have to set aside one day in a year to let your mom know that's she is loved, respected...[the same way I desist the notion of having days for your father, your sweetheart...] These things are inventions of the West who kind of live a hyper paced life. Archies & Hallmark guys make lots of moolah over this craze.
So give a warm hug to your mom right today [lets surprise her!] and if she lives far from you, give her a surprise call and say, "I just wanted to talk to you" Believe me friends you will hear her wavering voice, choking with tears welling up her eyes!
Our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said "Paradise lies under the feet of your mother."
May we all respect our parents and learn to treat them with kindness.
Fe Amanallah!
